This is a beta ROM leak from miui.com , it comes with the nasty emmc bug , that can be easily neutralized flashing the HydraCore Kernel [ thanks to @g.lewarne ]

Introducing Sweet ROM, a little side project of mine. I have cooked a few ROMS for myself though this is my first on XDA. I liked it and just wanted to share. I don't profess to know everything about cooking and modding but am enjoying myself learning.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

Can confirm it works coming from rooted 4.0.4 Samsung based ROMS

• Boot to CWM Recovery
• Flash Abyss 4.2 Redpill Kernel or from CF-Root Kernel with 5.6 cwm (LRG,K,Q etc)
• Reboot recovery
• Either 3 wipes (data/chache/dalvik) or 2 wipes (cache/dalvik)
• Flash SweetROM
• Wait for reboot. Takes a few minutes, don’t worry.
• Enjoy 

I haven't tried flashing from other Kernels but It should work from any "safe" ics kernel

Installation instructions:

Though the ROM is NoWipe, PLEASE FullWipe before installing!!! Regardless from which ROM you are coming! You won't regret - promised!!! ;) FullWipe is at least needed, to make SPlanner and included Calendar working properly - even if you were on other unofficial MIUI before!

a) coming from Rocket MIUI v1 - v5:

1. just flash over v1 with Wiping Caches before in Recovery

b) coming from any other ROM (including any MIUI-ROM!!!):

1. download any Hydracore Kernel from gavins thread in 'Original Android Development' (if you already have installed a brick free kernel, you don't have to do step 1. - 5. - but be sure you have!!!)
2. put zip-file on your USB-storage
3. boot in Recovery
4. Flash Hydracore Kernel!!!
5. boot back in recovery!!! (you find this option under 'advanced')
6. FullWipe
7. Flash ROM
8. reboot system
9. ..you are done ;)

This is not visual mod or theming and so posted in Android Development section. As we all are aware there is memory leak issue with JB Roms (may not be experienced in some case), so I decided to play with framework jars and mod them to optimize RAM management. I had used Advanced Task Killer on JB Rom and problems became grave, I needed to restart device after every hour. So freeing the RAM in that way didn't work at all. So, I decided to try reverse and let maximum multitasking take place (ofcourse, with optimal RAM free for launching new activities) This can be done customizing ADJ parameters. ICS or JB doesn't read ADJ values from build.prop or local.prop - so they are hardcoded into services.jar! Moreover, after patching the services.jar for OOM priority... kernel overrides few needed parameters and even init.d wont help in such case. So, I have created APK file which will do all the dirty work for you ;)

Ninja Mode features:
Maximum Overdrive:
As mentioned earlier, it's optimal usage of RAM for maximum multitasking intended to control memory leak.
The ROM experience will get much snappier than before even with too many apps!!

Optimized Framework:
The framework of the ROM is now PNG optimized. This will increase performance as load time should decline.

Fastest ZipAlign:
The normal zipalign option in ROM is slow as it zipaligns all apps everytime.
The method used here is different and it checks new apps if available and zipaligns!

Database Optimization:

Caution:

• This mod is only for BlackCNA and is under testing.
• First flash the CWM and then install the app manually.
• First reboot will take little longer time as it will zipalign all apks and fix permissions.
• Using this app on other ROM is not recommended as framework needed to be patched.
• To uninstall this mod, uninstall the app and you will need to flash the ROM again (without wipe will do.)

Installation:

1. Make sure you are on BlackCNA v1.2 ROM
2. Flash the base via CWM and reboot.
3. Install the "Ninja Mode" apk manually and activate it!
4. Reboot one time...

The main idea behind SuperNexus is to provide Vanilla Android experience, just like on Google's Nexus devices, to non-nexus devices. SuperNexus is entirely built from Google's AOSP Source. A lot of improvements and optimizations have been done to the Google's Source Code to have the best possible Vanilla Android Experience. Installation Instructions :

1) Flash a SAFE Custom Kernel like SpeedMod or Note/HydraCore.
2) Reboot into Recovery.
3) Wipe (Full Wipe Recommended) (Cache, Dalvik, Data)
4) Flash ROM.
5) Wait till installation completes, it will reboot by itself.
6) First Boot takes a loooong time. Have Patience.
7) Enjoy !!



Notes:

1) For CRT-off Animation Flash the attached Zip only after a complete boot into OS. If flashed before it'll go into bootloop. (Sorry) For the time being use THIS Link.
2) Before using any root appication make sure to launch SuperSU atleast once and update the SU binary.

ok, guys,

For the ones, who don't know what multiwindow-feature is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6c7XaDWmJg
I diffed 2 different Note 2 ROMs (1 with multiwindow, 1 without), to point out the differences responsible for making multiwindow work.
This is what I could find out:

1. you need 'multiwindow.jar' inside /system/framework (inside attached 'multiwindow' package)
2. you need 3 additional xmls inside /system/etc/permissions (inside attached 'multiwindow' package)
3. you need the app 'FlashBarService.apk' and according permission xml 'com.sec.feature.flashbar.xml' (inside attached 'FlashBar' package)
4. various changes in xmls and strings within framework-res.apk have also to be done...attached 'framework' package with 1 'without mulitwindow' and 1 'with multiwindow' of original Note 2 ROMs: http://www.mediafire.com/?p6zem8je5sakvfg
5. and the most tricky part: you need to port smalis inside 'android.policy.jar' to make it working (original Note 2 android.policy.jar inside attached 'multiwindow' package)
   • --> there is one complete folder inside \com\android\internal\policy\impl\ called 'multiwindow' ==> you for sure have to add to your android.policy.jar
   • --> there are several code-changes to be made inside \com\android\internal\policy\impl\PhoneWindowManag er.smali (at least to define backbutton working for starting multiwindow)
   • --> maybe other changes in same folder to other smalis

I also attached the android.policy.jar from Note2-ROM without multiwindow --> it is for devs to diff and find out what to port in a more detailed way....

Unfortunately I am not good in porting smali-code, but for sure others are able to do that!

I guess, if this succeeds, there is a good chance to make it working on other Sammy-Devices, such as S3 or Note1....or the feature depends on more then just that - who knows

So someone with deeper smali / java knowledge should continue....

dsixda's Android Kitchen - Now for Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Compatible with Windows (Cygwin) / Linux / Mac OS X

The following is a guide to assist you with creating your own Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 custom ROMs with the kitchen. This is NOT a guide to help you become Cyanogen or do fancy things with AOSP, but it may be your springboard to bigger things in the future.

Some of you already know about the Android Kitchen. It is a project I started on back in February 2010 to help newbies create their own custom ROMs and learn more about Android. As of the latest versions, you can now create your own Galaxy Note GT-N7000 ROMs with the kitchen.

To my surprise, since the file structure is very similar to that of the Galaxy SII GT-I9100, I only had to make a very minor update to the kitchen (one blank file) to allow GT-N7000 support.

Before starting I have to say that in the Mods in the rom are not my creation ,they are the property of their developers all right reserved.
I gather the largest possible number of mods in the same rom and added aroma installer 2.56 to allow the user to interact with the installation of the rom, I try as much as possible to ensure that the installer be dynamic, you can install the complete rom , change the Mods, change the kernel or just install / uninstall application system, my personal example that I sometimes love a rom but a mod in this rom annoys me and I can not do anything about it! Now I can simply uninstall mod with aroma! just keep the zip of the rom on the SD card and you can change any thing you want, the time you want ,without losing your data and Application!

1) Coming from GB 2.3.x:

1 / download the Rom archive here
2 / copy it to your external memory card
3 / reboot to recovery.
4 / A full wipe is recommended but not required (possible bug if no full wipe).
5 / choose install zip from sd card and choose the zip file you just downloaded.
6 / choose the language and follow the step in aroma

2) Coming from a stock rom / base stock ICS 4.0.x

1 / download the archive of the Rome here and copy it to your external memory card.
2 / download abbyssnote kernel which is here and copy it to your memory card.
3 / reboot to recovery (volume up + home + power).
4 / install update from sd card and choose AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo.zip.
5 / reboot recovery (in the main menu >> advanced >> reboot recovery.
6 / the phone restarts and recovery touch displays (touch the screen to b selecte).
7 / a wipe is not necessary.
8 / choose install update from sd card and choose Rom_LorDroiD_V02_Galaxy_Note.zip.
9 / choose the language in aroma and folow the steps in it .

3) Coming from a CM rom, AOKP, AOSP:

1 / download the archive of the Rom here and copy it to your memory card.
2 / reboot to recovery.
3 / full wipe necessary (it will not boot if you don't do a full Wipe).
4 / install zip from sd card then choose Rom_LorDroiD_V02_Galaxy_Note.zip.
5 / choose the language in aroma and folow the steps in it.

In this screen you can select the language of the installer aroma.

In this screen you can choose the installation mode

In this screen you can select the application system to install or uninstall (your choice)

In this screen you can select a configuration in your area that will accelerate the operation of the GPS

In this screen you can choose Mods to install.

In this screen you can choose the audio Mod to install.

In this screen you can choose the kernel to install.

In this screen you can choose the theme to install

In this screen you can review your choices you can confirme or go back to change choices

The flash ROM is tested only STOCK ICS 4.0.4


So we ready to start the procedure of porting:
IF YOU HAVE NOT YET MADE A BACKUP FOLDER EFS DO NOT YOU MAY NEVER KNOW.
If you do not still get flashed a kernel safe preferably Philz for ICS.
After flashing the kernel reboot into recovery.
Make the 3 wipe: davilk date and cache.

Flashing rom without restarting the download (choose update from zip etc. ..)

WAIT AND NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. IF THERE SEEMS LOCKED LOCKED NOT LEAVE END THE PROCESS WILL LAST A FEW MINUTES.
DO NOT BE AFRAID.

ONCE THE PHONE STARTED configure it.

CONFIGURED AFTER RESTART AGAIN IN RECOVERY

Flashing the FILE SUPERSU PREVIOUSLY downloaded

OPEN THE APP AND RESTART THE SUPERUSER menu and make UPGRADE REQUIRED.

INSTALL ROOT EXPLORER PREVIOUSLY DOWNLOADED

GRANT PERMITS root.

NOW OPEN THE FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER unzip gapps AND TRANSFERRED THE INDIVIDUAL APK IN A FOLDER IN YOUR NOTES.
ALL APPLICATIONS EXCEPT PHONESKY. apk ARE INSTALLED NORMALLY.

VIA ROOT EXPLORER SELECT PHONESKY.apk (ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE INSTALLED ALL OTHER APPS DOWNLOAD) And Copy it to the
SYSTEM / APP.
REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST ENABLE THE WRITING to occur MOUNT R / W UP ON ROOT EXPLORER.
ALSO COPIED THE FILE AFTER PHONESKY.apk REMEMBER TO CHANGE ALLOWED IN rW-RR. ONCE MADE THIS REBOOT YOUR PHONE.
ON RESTART install the PLAY STORE CONFIGURE YOUR ACCOUNT AND DIVERTETEVI.




I HAVE FOUND NO CRASH OF ANY KIND Neither LAG. THE ROM STABLE AND ALL THE LITTLE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED.
Despite this, PLEASE post ANY BUGS FOUND TO PROCEED TO A POSSIBLE FIX.

Installing via CWM

1. Fullwipe (you can use any of the safe kernels)
2. Install the rom

Once the rom starts Download the next tar kernel and flash with Odin Pc

2. copy ROM on your USB-storage
3. boot in Recovery
4. FullWipe
5. flash ROM (it will reboot automatically)
6. after initial setup, open Super SU-app and you might have to update SU-bin (app will do that for you if necessary!)
7. enjoy ;)

Every Rom cook or developer can take this ROM as base without asking for permission!!!
